For this edition of the Library News, expect a spread full of exciting back-to-school goodies for kids, teens, and yes- even adults. As the fall rolls in, check out the various services, events, and other benefits featured in this Library News.
School-aged kids will get stoked to attend the Smarty Pants Rule Back-to-School fair August 7.
Jim Gill will be performing his Contagious Tunes Tour on August 16. Jim Gill is a renowned early childhood educator who will raise any back-to-school broken spirits. Even if your schedule conflicts with these dates, the library offers various resources to help kids during the school year.
For the teenager, the library pumps up the party with a snarkfest of different programs, including the Get Booked!, Mock the Movie , and The Giver programs. You can find more details in the News, along with more information on other resources for teenagers.
The adults even get a little “love” during this fall issue. Highlighted is the new Hy-Vee smartlocker that offers shoppers the opportunity to pick up reserved books, CDs, and DVDs ordered from the library on location at Hy-Vee. In addition to this new amenity, the adults also have the chance to experience different cultural programs going on at the library, including local author workshops and a writing class. Plus, you can find out ways to get down and dirty in nature using the library’s watercolor, nature photography, car repair, and monarch watch resources.
Lastly, August and September events will be inside. Included is the Movies on the Lawn series. See page 15. NOTE: The Movies on the Lawn series has a changed date. Below is the updated schedule of the films.
