The Fascinating Encounters of Hello Goodbye Hello

Hello Goodbye HelloHello Goodbye Hello: A Circle of 101 Remarkable Meetings is an addictive collection of encounters between writers, actors, singers, politicians, and other celebrities. All too revealing, these encounters show the various sides of these well known personalities from kindness to pettiness with the humor and the insults to match. Craig Brown, the author, has been a columnist for over twenty years and has documented these sometimes strange but true meetings.

The book begins with Adolf Hitler who has a chance encounter with a young Englishman that if it had gone differently could have changed the world. There is also the prophetic meeting between James Dean, his Porsche, and Alec Guinness. During the liberation of Paris J.D. Salinger finds Ernest Hemingway at the Ritz Hotel, and in another encounter Truman Capote has a bizarre dinner with Peggy Lee. There are one hundred and one meetings which also include Madonna and Michael Jackson, Elvis Presley and President Richard M. Nixon, Salvador Dalí and Sigmund Freud, and Isadora Duncan and Jean Couteau.
