You’re going to wish smells and tastes could transfer via the Web because Kathy and Diana bring you a mouth-watering edition of All Booked Up.
They discuss one of their favorite topics: food! Bestselling author Amanda Hesser and food writer Merrill Stubbs have curated the first-ever online community cookbook, the basis for this gorgeous full-color book filled with more than 125 delicious seasonal recipes from the country’s most inventive home cooks.
Food 52 is not an entry-level cookbook, but there are some easier recipes to follow, including Maple Yogurt Pound Cake (with just a 10-minute prep time, even Diana could do it). Other recipes Kathy really likes from this book include Meat Loaf with Blackberry Barbecue Sauce, Savory Bread Pudding and Creamy Sausage Stuffed Mushrooms.
If you love cooking, become a member of the library’s Cooking by the Book book club. The club meets monthly to discuss and try recipes from a pre-selected cookbook. Bring your thoughts and dish from Martha’s American Food cookbook to the library at 7pm Oct. 4. A Passion for Baking by Marcy Goldman is the book for the Nov. 8 meeting. Your cooking style is never critiqued, just the recipe itself.
