Teen Film Festival

On October 21st, 2011, the Topeka and Shawnee County Public Library hosted its first Teen Movie Festival as part of the American Library Association’s Teen Read Week. Young filmmakers from the area submitted short films that were premiered at the festival. Two teams won trophies: The Dignified Retro Peasants earned the Best Live Action Film award for their movie “A Mid-Future Night’s Dream,” a sci-fi take on Shakespeare’s play “A Mid-Summer Night’s Dream,” and the MAC Films team won the Best Animated Film trophy for “Search for the Perfect Chocolate Chip Cookie,” which depicted a scene from the James Patterson novel “Maximum Ride: The Angel Experiment.”

Congratulations to the winners! Here are the pics.
