Preschool Storytime: Little Mouse and the Big Cupcake

Who doesn’t love a big cupcake? Join Miss Rhonda and Boomer Bear today as we read Little Mouse and the Big Cupcake by Thomas Taylor.

Kindergarten Readiness Tip

In this book, the author used a different size font to help clarify the meaning of the story. As you read to your child, point those text/font clues out. They may not be reading yet, but cueing into font changes will develop their ability to better grasp context and meaning of the story.

If you liked the song we did with cupcakes, you can do it again!

I am an Outreach Preschool Storyteller at the library. I'm usually out and about, visiting preschools and daycares in our community. It's the perfect job for a retired kindergarten teacher! I know what preschoolers need to be ready for school and I love sharing picture books, rhymes and fun music. It's a win for us both!
