Preschool Storytime: Five Fuzzy Chicks

Welcome to Storytime with Miss Joyce! Today we are visiting the farm when we read Five Fuzzy Chicks by Diana Murray. We will do some counting and see if Mama can find all her baby chicks for bedtime.

Parent Tip

Sleep helps children stay strong and healthy especially during their preschool years (ages 3 to 5). Most children this age need between 10 and 13 hours of sleep over a 24-hour period and usually one daytime nap. Older children may not need any naps at all.

More Fun

Try this craft, using cupcake liners for a fun way to count on the farm. In today’s story we visited the farm at bedtime and did some counting too. This video will help us continue with our counting skills!

Make a shaker out of plastic eggs like this one found at Sweet Peas and ABC’s.  You could also use a folded paper plate with beans inside stapled inside!  Then Shake, Shake, Shake it. Oh my, this is my favorite craft to make before singing this song.

Hope you enjoyed today’s storytime and activities with Miss Joyce and Boomer  – see you next time!
