Preschool Storytime: Caps for Sale

Hi friends! Thanks for joining me for Preschool Storytime. Today I’m reading a book about a man and some silly monkeys. Get ready to listen to Caps for Sale by Esphyr Slobodkina.

Parent Tip

Ask your child to repeat a word or phrase with you when you’re reading a story. This helps them increase vocabulary and memory skills. Another way to grow vocabulary is to talk about the meaning of unfamiliar words like the word “cap” in today’s story. Tell them some people use different words for the same thing, like “cap” for “hat.” Ask them to think of other words that might have the same meaning. This is a fun way to engage your child while in the car, waiting in line or at the grocery store.
