Topeka Winter Hoops Schedules

Last week, I wrote a blog about Thanksgiving football memories. What I didn’t talk about was that I also associate Thanksgiving with the Maui Invitational and the Preseason NIT college basketball tournaments, which to me signal the arrival of basketball season. And while KU and K-State will garner most of the attention in this area, there are opportunities to take in some action on the hardwood here in Topeka. Check out the schedules for some of the local high school and collegiate teams that will be competing over the next few months. It’s an opportunity to get out and support a local team, and see a sporting event at an affordable price.

  1. I agree wholeheartedly with Nate. You will find me most Friday winter nights in a gym just to the left of midcourt about 3/4 of the way up in the stands facing the benches. In my book it is the best sports buy in town. If you are hardcore enough you can see 4 games for about 6 bucks. Throw in money for nachos and a drink and the whole evening will cost you less than 10 dollars. Never mind the fact that you will see some young people do some remarkable things. Just be sure you bring a seat cushion those bleacher seats are hard……
