712 Innovations is a makerspace and shared workspace housing equipment and technologies that startups and entrepreneurs usually don’t have access to, things like a laser cutter, soldering equipment and industrial strength sewing machines. It’s a membership-based organization, open 24/7 and located at 712 Kansas Avenue in downtown Topeka.
While members are finding hands-on resources at 712, they’ll run into one of our embedded librarians, like Amber Bonnett, Digital Librarian. Amber uses her research expertise to connect people at 712 to resources that will help them in their pursuits as inventors, experimenters and entrepreneurs.
Librarians staff 712 on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 1-5 p.m.
To try out the services and equipment at 712 Innovations, you can check out a pass from the library. Or visit 712Innovations.com to find out how to become a member. And if you have a library card, you’re welcome to reserve a 3-hour worktime at the library’s tech-focused Make-It Lab.
