Wagons Ho! Let’s journey west as we read Ranger in Time: Rescue on the Oregon Trail! Traveling on the Oregon Trail was very dangerous, and 1 in 10 people didn’t make it. Gather your materials, settle in and don’t forget to log your time for summer reading in Beanstack

Make your Own Pilot Bread! 

Pilot bread was a staple on the Oregon Trail because it didn’t spoil, lasted forever and could be made using only three ingredients. Watch the video to make your own pilot bread.  

Ingredients and Supplies 

  • Flour 
  • Water 
  • Salt 
  • Medium-sized bowl 
  • Knife 
  • Nail, or something to poke a hole 
  • Cookie sheet 
  • Rolling pin
