Public invited to vision for community and library’s future

(TOPEKA, KS) Topeka & Shawnee County Public Library and Heartland Visioning invite Shawnee County residents to identify the priorities needed for shaping their community and library.

The public is invited to participate one of the six strategy sessions scheduled throughout the county:

Wednesday, May 27, 6:30 -8:00 pm, Topeka & Shawnee County Public Library, 1515 SW 10th Ave.

Thursday, June 11, 6:30-8:00 pm, Countryside United Methodist, 3221 SW Burlingame Rd.

Tuesday, July 7, 6:30-8:00 pm Auburn Civic Center, 1098 SW Auburn Rd., Auburn

Thursday, July 23, 5:00 -7:00 pm, Juli’s Coffee and Bistro, 110 SE 8th St.

Monday July 28, 6:30 – 8:00 pm, Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 312 NE Freeman Avenue

Monday, August 10, 6:30 – 8:00 pm, Garfield Park Community Center, 1600 NE Quincy St.

“Great libraries align their goals with the dreams and aspirations of their communities.” The feedback and ideas generated in these meetings will help the library determine its goals for its Next Decade plan.” said Gina Millsap, CEO, Topeka & Shawnee County Public Library.

This information will also help Heartland Visioning verify the progress of the five community priorities established from the 2013 community engagements, Dynamic Core, Community Pride and Services, Entertainment, Transportation, and Parks and Recreation.
