The Library Foundation participated in Topeka Gives, an event sponsored by the Topeka Community Foundation that gave members of the community an opportunity to interact and donate to 75 local non-profit organizations.
The day-long event on Wednesday, June 19th was held at The Fairlawn Plaza Mall where event attendees could contribute to one or more of the participating organizations. One hundred percent of the gifts that were given went to the organization(s) of the donor’s choice and a match from the Topeka Community Foundation was added to the gift!
The Library Foundation received $7,104.70, which reflects a gift amount of $5,980.00 designated by donors with an additional match amount of $1342.78 from the Topeka Community Foundation. The gift achievement put The Library Foundation in sixth place among the group of organizations who participated.View all results from Topeka Gives.
Each year, The Library Foundation continues to help the Topeka and Shawnee County Public Library advance its important mission of encouraging reading and learning. Through the library’s exceptional collections, programs and services, we have seen citizens’ lives change for the better. With the support of generous donors the library will continue to see improvements in how the library deploys its considerable array of services to customers when, where and how they need them.
