A Fond Farewell

A Message from Kathy Groesbeck, Executive Director & Development Director

On the occasion of my retirement as Executive Director and Development Director of The Library Foundation on Friday, December 27, 2013, I would like to express the most sincere THANK YOU to . . .

Library Foundation Donors . . . for their meaningful and generous gifts to support the Topeka and Shawnee County Public Library.

Library Foundation Trustees . . . for their leadership, vision, and commitment.

Library Colleagues . . . for their creativity, dedication, and camaraderie.

I am exceedingly grateful to have the opportunity to lead The Library Foundation these past few years and for the several years preceding as part of the team.  It has been the most interesting, challenging, and rewarding work I have ever done.  And the most fun!

The process to choose my successor is well underway.  Soon, the next Executive Director will work alongside Le Ann Meyer, the bright, talented and friendly Development Specialist we hired six months ago.  LeAnn is definitely up to the challenge of helping the new Executive Director and the Foundation Board of Trustees take The Library Foundation to the next level.

As always, I am fully committed to The Library Foundation and look forward to help the library with a succession plan to ensure a smooth transition for the new team.  On a personal note, I am delighted to retire and experience whatever the next adventure will be for me.

Thank you to everyone for giving me so many fond memories and unforgettable experiences of being here. My library has made my life awesome!

Best regards,

Kathy Groesbeck

  1. Kathy. I am so sorry to read that you are approaching retirement; and , at the same time, so happy to read that you are approaching retirement. Retirement is just AWESOME and I know that you will enjoy it thoroughly. It will present its own series of opportunities and chances to excel if at a somewhat different pace.

    Congratulations to you!!!
