Feb/March 2013 Library News – What’s Happening at Your Library

February brings The Big Read to Topeka and Shawnee County. Citizens from all walks of life will unite in reading and discussing the same book, The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald, as part of this National Endowment for the Arts-sponsored community reading initiative.

In this edition of Library News, read reviews on this classic novel and discover titles that are considered read-a-likes. The Big Read is for readers and non-readers alike. If you don’t want to read the book, we’ll be showing the movie or come to one of 28 other events centered around the story and the Roaring Twenties. Flip to the center color spread for details on signature Big Read events. Also learn about our Big Read companion book for children, Wonderstruck by Brian Selznick.
