How will I know if my item is ready for pickup?
Customers will be called, emailed, or sent a letter when their item is ready for pickup. You choose your notification method when placing the hold request.
How long do I have to pick up my item?
After five days, unclaimed items will go on to the next person on the waiting list.
Where do I pick up my requests?
All requested items, except Interlibrary Loan requests, are available in a self-service location for customers. The Holds Pick-up Room is located across from the Learning Center.
Items are arranged alphabetically by the customer’s last name. Customers use the Check Out Kiosks to check out the items.
Where do I pick up my Interlibrary Loan request?
Interlibrary Loan requests are available to pick up at the Customer Service Desk.
Can someone else pick up my hold for me?
Each item is on hold for a specific customer. Only that customer’s library card can be used to check out the item on the Check Out Kiosks.
If you send a relative to pick up your hold, they will need to take the item to the Customer Service Desk and check it out on their own library card.
What if I need to place a hold on a checked in item and pick up the item on the same day?
For same day holds on checked in items, please call the Reference Desk at 785-580-4400 and speak directly to library staff.
