Too much sugar — The largest wedding cake in the world was made by the chefs of Mohegan Sun in Connecticut for their New England bridal showcase. How much did it weigh? 15,032 pounds!
Watch your step! — The longest bridal veil measured 11,017 ft 1/2 inch and was worn by Lebanese bride Sandra Mechleb. Did they have room for the groom at the wedding?
Woof woof! — The largest dog wedding took place in Colorado at the “Bow Wow Vows event” and involved 178 dog “couples.” All pairs had met during a speed dating session prior to the ceremony.
The largest underwater wedding — The wedding of Ewa Staronska and Pawel Burkowski in 2011 was attended by 303 divers in Poland. Even Father Pawel Wrobel, the priest, was a licensed diver!
The largest wedding bouquet — The largest wedding bouquet measured 197 ft 1 in long and was held by Christa Rasanayagam (Canada) when she was married at King Catholic Church in Ontario, Canada. The bouquet weighed 202.8 pounds and was made up of 500 roses, 400 carnations, 60 lilies, 200 daisies and 340 sprigs of baby’s breath.
Hey, I’m Floating! — Erin Finnegan and Noah Fulmor (USA) got married in the first zero-gravity wedding in 2009 in a “modified Boeing 727-200”. They said they had always wanted a ‘different’ wedding but admitted they had trouble keeping the wedding dress from floating!
Run, run, run as fast as you can! — The fastest marathon in a wedding dress was achieved by Sarah Dudgeon at the Virgin Money London Marathon in London, UK, on April 13, 2014. Sarah’s record was an incredible 3 hr, 16 min, 44 sec.
Many couch potatoes at this wedding — The largest TV audience for a wedding occurred on 29 July 1981, during the marriage of HRH Prince Charles to Lady Diana Spencer. An estimated 750 million people in 74 countries viewed these nuptials.
