lego fire department 2

Somebody call the fire department because it’s getting HOT in the Kids Library! Maybe not hot enough to melt glass (which is good since glass melts at temperatures above 2000 degrees Fahrenheit) but we’re definitely fired up about our new science and art program, Gathering STEAM.

chihuly art horizontal 2This February 16, 2:30-3:30 in the Lingo Room, kids 8-12 years old can absorb ideas about the chemistry of color, reflect on the beauty of glass artwork, meet Doug Sheafor, creator of the blown glass solar system displayed in Youth Services, and take home their own melted masterpiece.

Registration required.  Call 580-4565.

If you like February’s program about color and glass, come back March 16th, when we’ll be Building Bridges. In fact, put a little sizzle in every third Sunday of the month as you get your hands on and your head into science, technology, engineering, art, and math at Gathering STEAM.
