Weird and Wacky Festivals July-August

From comic books shows to chili cook-offs, fun fairs and festivals are held all across America. Whatever your interest, I’m sure someone, somewhere is celebrating it.

The Moxie Festival-Lisbon, ME July 12-14

What is Moxie?  It’s a uniquely flavored sodapop dating back to 1884.  Originially a “cure all” elixir, Moxie has achieved a cult following for those who apprciate it’s bold taste.  Each year, Moxie fans gather in this New England town to celebrate all things Moxie.  This includes a parade, a car show, recipe contests and the Moxie Chugging Challenge.  Do YOU have the Moxie?

Comic-Con International-San Diego, CA July 18-21

Fans of science fiction, fantasy, and comic books journey west for the world’s largest pop culture convention.  Attend a panel discussion with your favorite TV stars or secure an autograph from that elusive artist, then catch a sneak preview of next summer’s biggest movie.  Be sure to put this on your 2014 calendar, because…um, it’s been sold out for months (first hand knowledge).
