From comic books shows to chili cook-offs, fun fairs and festivals are held all across America.  Whatever your interest, I’m sure someone, somewhere is celebrating it.

Kansas City Renaissance Festival, Bonner Springs, KS, September 1-OCtober 14

Step back in time to an age of chivalry and magic.  Each weekend hosts a different theme, from pirates to Arabian Nights.  Enjoy 16 acres of food, shows, competitions and kid’s activities.  Ride an elephant or test your archery skills.  Over 100 costumed characters are there to entertain.

Ghirardelli Chocolate Festival, San Francisco, CA, September 8-9

Since 1853, the name Ghirardelli has meant rich, chocolatey goodness.  Each year, thousands attend the Chocolate Festival at Ghirardelli Square on Fisherman’s Wharf.  Enjoy two days of food, music, demonstrations and the famed Ice Cream Sundae Eating Contest.  The event is free, but tickets can be purchased to sample assorted treats.

Austin City Limits Music Festival, Austin, TX, October 12-14

Experience music of all genres at this popular outdoor festival based on the long-running PBS music series.  Fans of rock, country, jazz and blues will not be disappointed.  An art show and a famer’s market add to the fun.  Tickets go fast, so buy yours early!
