Are you looking for a simple destination that celebrates all that is Kansas? Then head southwest to Hutchinson for the Kansas State Fair-now in it’s 100th year!!
Truly an event for the whole family, the Kansas State Fair runs September 7 through 16 and includes a variety of competitions, demonstrations, exhibits, and entertainment.
Show your muscle in the Arm Wrestling Competition or lend your voice to the Turkey, Duck & Goose Calling Contest. Listen to marching bands compete or get caught up in the Annual Spelling Bee.
Of course, the traditional livestock and household competitions are still there. How does YOUR strawberry jam stack up?
Afterward, head over to the Grandstand for top-notch entertainment: Classic rockers Boston and .38 Special show they’ve still got it. Or maybe country superstar Billy Currington. VicTORIous star Victoria Justice will keep the tweens happy.
Head over to the Midway for Carnival rides and games. Don’t forget the legendary Ye Old Mill water-ride. And then what’s a state fair without the food. Food vendors of every kind can be found at the Fair.
