Australia Day!

January 26th is quickly approaching. Do you know what that means? Australia Day! Okay, maybe you didn't know that, but it is celebrated each year to mark the arrival of the First Fleet of British Ships in 1788. In celebration, we will be virtually travelling to sites around Australia!

Port Jackson

Port Jackson is located in Sydney, Australia, and is often called the Sydney Harbor as a result. It is a natural harbor and is an inlet of the Tasman Sea. Although the land around Port Jackson was occupied by various tribes native to Australia, Port Jackson is known as the location of the first European settlement in Australia, as governor Arthur Phillip established the first colony in Australia on January 26th, 1788. Port Jackson is home to one of the most famous sites in Australia: the Sydney Opera House.
