Teen Read Week 2012 is October 14-20. Teen Read Week is a time to celebrate reading for fun and encourage teens to take advantage of reading in all its forms —books and magazines, e-books, audiobooks and more — and become regular library users. The theme is “It Came from the Library!”
The library had some awesome programs during Teen Read Week!
- Yu-gi-oh and Magic card players challenged each other during a tournament on Monday, October 15 at 4:00 pm.
- The YWCA sponsored a performance and visual art event about preventing domestic and sexual violence. Everyone was welcome to join in on Tuesday, October 16 at 4:00 pm.
- Teens who love to read and eat discussed the books on the Teens’ Top Ten nomination list and enjoyed making a mini pizza at the Books and Bites program on Thursday, October 18 at 3:30 pm.Teens voted for their favorites and some of them won a free book at the program.
The winner of the blog contest was Victoria! She won a copy of the book Between Shades of Gray by Ruta Sepetys.
