I can tell that you are talented just by the way you’re reading this blog. I’m also sensing some suppressed angst because you haven’t found a platform to express your creativity properly. And let’s face it, posting videos to Youtube is still pretty cool, but you crave the excitement of the microphone and the heat of the spotlight. That’s all good, because here at the library, you can perform on a real stage in front of a live audience who will clap and cheer for you because you are talented!
So come to Open Mic Night, a talent show for teenagers held the last Wednesday of most months from 4:00 to 5:30 in THE EDGE. You can sing, dance, play an instrument, tell jokes, read poetry or perform funny skits. You can even bring your band or just your guitar, like this guy!
You’ve got talent and here’s your place to show it off!
If you’d like to participate, come to THE EDGE at 4:00 just before Open Mic Night. We’ll sign you up for a time slot to perform, or you can just watch all the great acts. If you have questions call 580-4565 or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org. Families and people of all ages are welcome to watch. All performers must be between the ages of 12 and 18. Please check the schedule to confirm this month’s date.
See you there!
