Thousands of readers from across the county hit the books this summer as part of our summer reading program, which ended July 28. Thanks to all who participated in our reading challenge and attended SummerFest programs at the library.
Library customers contributed reviews as they completed various reading milestones. We’ve compiled a collection of customer’s book reviews here.
In total, 4,746 kids, 644 teens, 1,009 adults and 230 infants participated and read more than 50,000 hours in eight weeks!
We’re still tallying up which schools had the most readers. Those schools with at least 25 percent of students reading will earn a prize pack of books for their libraries and a trophy.
Everyone wins when they read with us during summer, but there is extra incentive offered for anyone needing extra motivation. Here is a listing of all the lucky grand prize winners:

Your math is incorrect. 8 weeks and 301.5 hours is a little over 5 hours a day. Way to go Chloe!

The kids who read from a placement called Clarnece M. Kelley Juvenielle Center never got our book for reading during the summer fest Own the Night prgram. Do you think you could give Megan some books for Mrs.Simonson to let us choose from?
