Author Linda Polly will talk about her new book, Midwest Moms: Recipes and Advice from the Heartland, in a three-part presentation at the Topeka and Shawnee County Public Library on Thursday, September 27, 7:00–8:45 pm in Marvin Auditorium 101C. Polly is a nationally known author and an award-winning photographer who will share how she developed the idea for this book and how to publish any type of book. She will also share the great stories and advice contributed by Midwest women, including many well-known Kansans.
Part one: HOW TO PUBLISH ANY TYPE OF BOOK – including companies and web sites for reference.
Part two: MIDWEST MOMS: Recipes and Advice from the Heartland – how I developed the idea, how I secured the advice from seven Midwestern states and the reading of some of the advice.
Part three: COOKING AND ENTERTAINING – with easy recipes from the book.
A book signing will follow the program. The book’s graphic designer will also be on site to answer questions. Check out Polly’s book from the library.
The Topeka and Shawnee County Public Library is a 21st-century, landmark library, and features the Alice C. Sabatini Gallery, the Millennium Café, Chandler Booktique, meeting rooms, and free computer and Internet access and training.
Gallery hours are the same as library hours: Mon. through Fri. 9 am to 9 pm, Sat. 9 am to 6 pm and Sunday 12 pm to 9 pm.
