This Week’s Theme: Zoo Stories
Before you read, ask your kids to make predictions about what will happen in the story. Why does Gorilla have a key? What is the gorilla going to do with it? This story features several zoo animals: a gorilla, an elephant, a lion, a hyena, a giraffe and an armadillo. Ask your kids to tell you what they already know about these animals, and share photographs of any that are unfamiliar. You can find Good Night, Gorilla in the Animals and Nature section, or just click on the book cover above if you've already logged in.
After you've finished reading, learn more about the people who keep the animals at the zoo healthy and happy in Who Works at the Zoo?Maybe these zoo stories will inspire your own visit to the Topeka Zoo. Or, we'll bring the zoo to you with Zoo Animals Live! coming up on Thursday, April 2 from 4-4:45 pm in Marvin Auditorium.
