Feb/March 2013 Library News – What’s Happening at Your Library

This edition of Library News has everything you need to know about The Big Read, a community reading initiative held Feb. 1–March 2. This community reading initiative is about much more than reading. We offer you art, music and history. And as always there’s a schedule of computer classes.

  • R.E.A.D.

    Dogs are man's best friends, but a child's best listener. Grab your favorite book and read to the Reading Education Assistance Dogs. They are registered therapy animals that volunteer at the library with their owners.

  • True Grit- Tallgrass Express String Band

    The Big Read Celebration of True Grit opens with the Tallgrass Express String Band, pride of the Flint Hills. Annie and her band will lead you on a wild musical chase through the Old West.

It's a hilarious salute to soup strainers and snot mops to get you ready for International Fake Mustache Day on February 3rd and send you home with a cookie duster of your very own.

    Registration required. A dedicated time to focus on technology questions. Please provide a description of the help you need when your register. Practice new computer skills or learn to use the library catalog while trainers are available to assist.
