Any non-profit, in order to fulfill their mission, will use volunteers to provide service, either directly to those in need, or to the non-profit office itself. Each volunteer should be screened, as if they were to be employed, and fully trained in all aspects of public service.  Treat your volunteers like gold, because they are precious, and those who truly invest their time and efforts are scarce.  Volunteer hours can be tracked, and converted to an hourly rate (usually Minimum Wage), to brag to a prospective donor, about how valuable your organization is. Volunteers who are treated well can be your best advocates in the community, will speak highly of your organization, may donate themselves, or know others of their friends whom they can contact on your behalf.
