The library is now purchasing Blu-ray discs. This exciting new collection will debut at your library on Monday, January 4, 2010. 

The Blu-ray disc collection will be available for checkout through the DVD Dispenser catalog.

The new collection will include popular recent releases including:  Fast and Furious, Up, Terminator Salvation, G.I.Joe: The Rise of Cobra, District 9, The Hangover, G-Force, Monsters Vs. Aliens, Angels & Demons, Star Trek, Inglourious Basterds, Paranormal Activity, Julie and Julia.

These DVDs are recently ordered by the library and will be arriving now through December 2009.

Use the library catalog to place a request and add your name to the waiting list.
Some titles are available for a 3 day checkout from the DVD Dispenser. 

Locate the Classical Music CDs, Popular Music Cds, and Children's Music CDs in the library and explore the types of music contained in each collection.

Music CDs are listed in the library catalog as "sound recordings."

Here are some tips for searching for music CDs:

• If you know the name of the CD, search by TITLE starts with
• If you know the name of the performer, search by AUTHOR (last, first) and use the performers last name
• If you know the title of a song, you can use the advanced search, search the song title in TITLE keyword and limit your results to Music
• If you know the type of music, try searching by SUBJECT

The Alpha-Numeric System for Classification of Recordings (ANSCR) system allows sound recordings to be labeled and shelved to offer the most browse ability for customers.

By grouping similar items in music genres or categories, and then arranging by composers and performers within the genre, the arrangement can encourage finding specific items and also the serendipitous discovery of new music through browsing.

 ANSCR call numbers consist of four basic lines of information.
