Topeka author Max Yoho will be in the Topeka Room on Sunday, April 3 from 2-3pm to speak about his newest novel “With the Wisdom of Owls.” This humorous look at childhood through the character of baby Harry, his owl Godfather Wyatt, two “owlces” (owl uncles), and the rest of Harry’s human family is sure to strike a chord.
Yoho’s earlier novel “The Revival” was recently accepted as a contender for Amazon’s 2011 “Breakthrough Novel Award” and has made it from the original pool of 2000 titles to be in the quarter-finals of 500 titles. An excerpt of “The Revival” will soon be posted on Amazon’s website (along with the other quarter-finalists) for the public to vote for their favorite.
Yoho has established himself as a witty writer from the Midwest, and a growing list of fans enjoy his off-beat sense of humor and mind-boggling leaps of logic–often leaving readers laughing out loud. He is a life-long Kansan, was born in Colony, KS, and became a writer after 38 years as a machinist.
A book signing will follow the author talk. For more information call the Topeka Room at 785-580-4510.
