How do you know someone is telling you the truth? Join us in the Topeka Room of the Topeka & Shawnee County Public Library for this month’s Sunday Afternoon with Kansas Authors program on Sunday, March 13 at 2:00pm to hear former FBI agent Mark Bouton as helps you become a human lie detector by using the tips in his new book How to Spot Lies Like the FBI. Topics in the book include: why try to spot lies?, the psychology of lying, lying in our society, and how lying affects daily life. In the book, Bouton describes tell-tale body language and actions which can help you spot when someone is telling the truth or trying to pull a fast one over on you.
Mark Bouton is a former FBI agent who worked on cases including the Oklahoma City Bombing case. He is also the author of the Max Austin, P.I. books Max Conquers the Cosmos and Max Unlocks the Universe and the LAPD Mysteries Cracks in the Rainbow and The Second Savior featuring Detective Rick Dover. Bouton majored in sociology at Oklahoma State University and earned a law degree from Oklahoma University School of Law before spending 30 years working with the FBI.
