Attention creative people, we’re holding an all-ages bookmark design contest as part of Summerfest 2011. Get your crayons, paint or glue guns ready!

The top designs in 4 age categories will be featured in our Bookmark Hall of Fame during the summer, and the creators will receive a gift card to the Millennium Café. Winners will be notified the week of June 13.

Age categories:
2-5 years
6-11 years
12-18 years
19 and up

Download the Summerfest Bookmark Contest Promotional Piece for entry rules and regulations (These forms were also taken to area schools. Ask your child if he received one.) The tag portion of the form should be cut off and attached to your submission so we know who to call if you win.

Design a Bookmark Contest Specifications:

  • Bookmarks can be no larger than 11 inches by 5 inches
  • Make it from paper, cardboard, thread, tape, yarn or anything that is not toxic, perishable, wet, moldy or causes stains
  • Fill out the tag on the Summerfest Bookmark Contest Promotional form and attach it to your design
  • Submit your bookmark up until June 1 at the library, bookmobile or check-out desk
  • If you wish, you can pick up your bookmark between Aug. 1 and Sept. 1 at the Youth Services Desk
  • The Topeka and Shawnee County Public Library retains intellectual property rights on submitted designs and may use them to promote the library
