The Master Gardeners of Shawnee County are having a plant sale on May 7th 2011 from 8:00 a.m. to noon at the Extension Office in Topeka. The Shawnee County Extension Office is located at 1740 SW Western Avenue. All of the plants available at the sale are raised by the Master Gardeners. Both annuals and perennials will be for sale and many of these plants are proven to thrive with very little water and care. In conjunction with this plant sale, the library is offering two $10 gift certificates to be used for buying plants at this sale.
If you want to enter, please go to the Lawn and Garden Neighborhood in the west wing of the library. Look for the colorful watering can and fill out an entry blank with your name and phone number. Be sure and put your entry in the watering can. You can enter the drawing until Thursday, April 28th. Two lucky winners will be called and the gift certificates will be available at the reference desk. Winners will be required to show I.D. to claim their gift certificate.
