Recently I was channel surfing and ran across the Animal Planet show, My Cat from Hell. The show’s star is Jackson Galaxy. I have never owned a cat and don’t really consider myself a cat person, but to my surprise I was fascinated by this show. Galaxy seems to have a real connection with his clients and their owners. Coincidentally, while browsing the pet memoir section of the Library’s Pets Neighborhood, I ran across the book Cat Daddy.
Jackson Galaxy’s book, Cat Daddy: What the World’s Most Incorrigible Cat taught me about Life, Love, and Coming Clean, tells about his journey from drug addict to cat behaviorist. More than that, this memoir chronicles Jackson’s life with a cat named Benny. Benny was brought into a shelter where Jackson was volunteering and was both a physical and emotional wreck. Working with Benny helped change Jackson’s life and showed him how to deal with all troubled cats.
You can find this book and many other books about cats in the Pets Neighborhood.
