Attend a Energy Savings Workshop Hosted by Westar

A free workshop to learn how to save money on home energy costs awaits you at the library Oct. 16. From light bulbs to deep freezers, newer construction to century-old homes, homeowners learn tips from the pros for creating comfort in your home and in your budget. Learn just how easy it is to reduce your energy bill with simple and practical improvements, like installing weather stripping. Attend the Energy Savings Workshop from 6–9pm in Marvin Auditorium 101BC.

“It does not take a large investment of money to make noticeable changes in your energy use. Changes in behavior and small investments can make a difference. We’ll show you how,” said Tammie Rhea, Westar Energy. Listen in as she explains how to put these changes to work for you.

Online registration is required. Register through Westar’s website. Registered attendees will be entered in a drawing for two gift cards.

Rack up the savings! Check out books, magazines and DVDs on home repairs and improvements instead of (or before) buying them. Take a tour of our Home Neighborhood. You’ll find home repair books in one convenient place. Need a guide? Ask a librarian.
