What’s Left for Summer?

We have plenty of great programming left this summer for young adults. Here is a list of what’s happening each Monday from 2:00-3:00 in Marvin Auditorium.

Planting Beneath the Surface [11–18 years] Dig beneath the surface and plant a garden. Create a plantable bookmark, fashion a garden stone, make a dirt dessert and enjoy the Saran candy wrap contest.

Bugging You with Artist Patrick Vincent
Learn about the fascinating art of printmaking and make your own bug print t-shirt. T-shirt and supplies provided. Vincent shares how he creates his art, which combines human and insect components to create new creatures.

Zombie Apocalypse Party [11–18 years] Cheer and jeer these insatiable half-lifes with zombie-related crafts, games and trivia. You may even pick up tips on how to survive a zombie apocalypse.

Murder Mystery Challenge [11–18 years] A dead body has been discovered, and it’s up to you to find the murderer. Examine clues and inspect the crime scene to eliminate suspects and identify the killer. Bring you detective powers to the library and nab the offender before he or she strikes again.

The Cover Girls Concert [all ages] By day, they’re studious college students, but at night (and afternoons) they turn into musical superstars! Enjoy these guitar-slinging, joke-cracking entertainers as they sing your favorite pop and country tunes.

Anime Event [11–18 years] Share your love of anime and learn about Japanese culture at this fun program. Join us for trivia and crafts. You can cosplay and dress up as a character or just come as yourself.

Digging Beneath the Surface [11–18 years] Learn how an archaeologist studies the remains of a prehistoric people and their culture found beneath the surface. Participate in a trash can dig, play historical trivia and create a clay medallion.

Jul 29 | 2:00–3:00 pm | Marvin Auditorium
Potato Cook-off [11–18 years] In this fast and furious cooking program, teams create a yummy dish using a baked potato as the base ingredient. Access to a microwave, potato masher and electric skillet provided. Bring your own secret ingredients or choose from our selection of mix-ins.
