Live Concerts for Kids and Teens

Music fans, mark your calendars. Summer brings an impressive lineup of entertainers to delight young and old alike. We shine the spotlight on some homegrown talent in this blog post.

KONICA MINOLTA DIGITAL CAMERAWednesday, June 26, 2013, see the Silly Library Band. Talented staff put on a memorable performance for all ages as part of our Blockbuster Wednesday series. Kyler leads the band, which performs at 9:30am, 11:00am and 6:30pm. Come cheer on our rockin’ librarians.

Teen talent that will make your mouth drop open awaits you June 26 at 4pm at Open Mic Night. Any teen can perform. All ages can attend. You’ll be amazed as these young Topekans sing, dance, read poetry and tell jokes.

A man who needs no introduction, kid-rocker Jim Cosgrove (aka Mr. Stinky Feet) brings his high-energy performance to our Marvin Auditorium July 3 at 9:30am, 11:00am and 6:30pm. His interactive songs are sure to please parents and kids alike.

Another fun, all-ages show coming up July 8 is The Cover Girls Concert. Have a honky tonkin’ good time as these college girls play guitar, sing and crack jokes. Anyone who likes pop and country will love this free concert in The Edge.

Marvel at Young Pianists who perform here July 18 as part of the University of Kansas’ International Institute for Young Musicians. Concert is at 7:30pm in Marvin Auditorium 101AB.

The second and fourth Saturdays of the month, drop by at 10am to hear Kyler play guitar and tell stories for your family. Kyler also reads, sings and plays guitar for families of all ages the third Friday of the month.
