Gary K. Clarke Shares African Adventures, Misadventures

For decades, Gary K. Clarke led photography safaris all over Africa. He collected thousands of photographs and has authored three books previously, which are in the library’s collection. He discusses his newest book, Once Upon a Time in Africa, Nov. 10 at 7pm in Marvin Auditorium.

As Director Emeritus of the World Famous Topeka Zoo, and later as President-for-Life of Cowabunga Safaris, Clarke has built a wealth of knowledge about the people and animals of Africa. His book shares his personal stories of African adventures, misadventures, puns and quips, and predicaments. He’s familiar enough to some Africans that they call him COWABUNGA! Come to the presentation to find out why.
