Free Concert by Folk Singer Susan Leigh Picking

Sun | Feb 9, 2014 | 3:00-4:00pm | Marvin Auditorium 101AB

Picking is a down-home Midwestern gal who has a Pacific Coast cool and now East Coast sensibility. She performs ’70s folk rock-style songs with a hint of Irish lilt. Picking’s Irish heritage drew her to Celtic music.

She moved from her native Michigan to California some 15 years ago via a circuitous path. She studied in Nurnberg, Germany as an exchange student, earned a BA in Broadcast Journalism from The University of Wisconsin, and spent several years on the slopes of Colorado, according to her bio on her website. She has toured around the country performing for various audiences, but many of her performances are family oriented.
