Altered Book Workshops August 4 & 6, 2011

Sea Change altered book

Registration is open for the Altered Book Workshops! Learn how to transform a damaged or unwanted book into a work of art. For examples of altered books from past workshops check out our Flickr photos here.

2 workshops are being offered this year and we’re bringing in some very talented library staff to teach different techniques.

Workshop #1 is Thursday, August 4, 6:30-8:30pm in Marvin Auditorium 101A. This workshop will include both demonstrations and hands-on activities. Explore calligraphy and journaling, see how small furniture can be made from books, learn sewing and weaving techniques, and watch a book being altered using power tools.
