Kansas Congresswoman Lynn Jenkins will hold a second annual Jobs Fair on Thursday, September 1st, 2011, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m  in the Agricultural Hall at the Expocentre, 17th and Topeka Blvd. The jobs fair is free, open to the public, and open to any business that is currently seeking employees.  Congresswoman Jenkins is holding the fair to help connect Kansans looking for work with businesses that are hiring. Last year’s Fair had 60 exhibitors and over 1100 job-seekers, and she hopes to build on that initial success.

So far, 26 businesses have signed up for booths. That number will probably grow to 35-40 by the time the Fair opens its doors. The Jobs Fair will represent a cross-section of regional employers, as exhibitors are from a variety of industries and government agencies, such as the following:

  • Job Placement Organizations
  • Staffing Agencies
  • Local Cities
  • Local Schools (e.g., Washburn Tech)
  • State Agencies (e.g., KDOT, SRS)
  • Health Care (e.g., Blue Cross, Physicians Mutual)
  • Credit Agencies

For exhibitors, an RSVP is required.  If you would like to participate, please register on the Congresswoman’s website www.lynnjenkins.house.gov Or contact Bill Roe in her Topeka office at 785-234-5966 or via e-mail at bill.roe@mail.house.gov.
