I love watching a good, old-fashioned, detective movie. These films are actually a sub-genre of crime because they focus more on the efforts made by a detective, P. I., FBI agent, or amateur to solve a particular crime. Suspense is often a big element in these mysteries, but not always necessary. I think the bigger element that audiences prefer to see are the personality traits (sometimes quirky) that the protagonists expose during their investigations. Here is my all-time favorite top 5 list of detective films. I highly recommend watching any of these titles if you have not seen them.
