A young mother, Sigita, wakes confused and in the hospital. One of the last things she remembers before everything blacks out is a strange woman giving her young son chocolate. Frantic, Sigita realizes she was drugged so her son could be abducted, and now he is missing.
In another country miles away, Nina is asked to retrieve a suitcase out of a public locker for her friend, Karin. Inside the suitcase a young boy is folded into the cramped space. He’s drugged but still alive. Nina doesn’t know who to trust, and before she has a chance to find the truth about the boy, Karin is murdered.
The boy is the center of it all as Sigita searches for him and Nina tries to keep both the boy and herself alive in The Boy in the Suitcase by Lene Kaaberbol and Agnete Friis. This is a fast paced thriller that moves in and out of different viewpoints as the story reveals the reason behind the kidnapping. In the end the answer behind the kidnapping may not save them as the crime itself begins to spin out of control.
