The Voice by Bill Myers

This novel’s unique premise sets up a plot full of twists and turns–and opportunities to reflect on the nature of God.  What if a team of scientists developed a program that could "play back" the very voice of God as it is "recorded" on stones found where He is known to have spoken in the past?  That program is what brings Jazmin to the doorstep of her "Uncle Charlie"–with a bevy of gunman hot on her heels.  They want the program and its inherent power, which they believe will threaten their religious beliefs.  Jazmin explains to Charlie that her parents—the ones who developed the program–have been kidnapped and that she needs his help to find them.  Charlie, tortured by the death of his own family, sees this chance to help Jazmin as a second chance for redemption.  He agrees to help his niece and thus they start a game of "cat and mouse" that takes them around the world.

Myers is known for combining wild speculations with energizing plots to create thrillers that entertain and also make the reader think about Christian themes.  Here he does it once again, with scenes depicting the power of God's voice that challenge the reader to think about what would really happen if we truly knew the power behind the voice of God.  Read The Voice for a thought provoking thrill ride, and if this type of Christian Fiction appeals to you be sure to check out Bill Myers' other books.
