Adventuremobile
The AdventureMobile is our bookmobile for kids. During the summer it can be found Monday –Friday at a dozen community stops around the city & county. Our 10 week schedule starts May 28th and runs through August 2nd. Each week we will have a different Live Animal for you and your family to see and learn about. Of course, we have Books, DVDs and Audio Books of all kinds for kids of all ages, infant to teen available for check out!
The AdventureMobile also has all you need to participate in any of the library Summerfest reading programs. Plus, we have our “Critter Club” with a prize for those who come to see our “Critter” each week. In the fall The AdventureMobile begins visits to area elementary schools. Summerfest 2013 Details
Starting May 22, kids can earn prizes for reading. After every 2 hours (up to 16 hours) kids are eligible for a prize, which can be picked up at any bookmobile stop or the main library. All participants who read at least 12 hours in the summer win a book, earn a completion certificate and are entered into drawings for Gage Park Fun Cards, Shawnee County Parks and Recreation X-treme Fun Cards or a Nook Tablet™.
